Two Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

The assault caused the partial closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
